Funeral services for Lietzie Landt were held Friday, Feb. 9, 1990 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Eno Cemetery, rural Luana, Iowa.
Lietzie Landt, daughter of Herman and Mathilda (Radloff) Heins, was born Dec. 13, 1893, on a farm south of Luana in Clayton County, Iowa. She died Tuesday evening, Feb. 6, in the Good Samaritan Center at Postville, Iowa.
She was baptized July 8, 1894 at St. John Lutheran Church at Luana and confirmed there on April 12, 1908, by the Rev. Paulsen. She attended the rural school in Monona Township, Clayton County.
On Dec. 22, 1914 she married Henry Landt in St. Paul Lutheran Parsonage at Monona, Iowa. They had three daughters. They lived on a farm south of Luana until 1946, when they moved to Postville.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry, who died in 1970, a daughter, Charlotte, who died in infancy, a granddaughter, Gayle Lenth, two brothers, Walter and Arno Heins, and a sister, Florence (Mrs. Joe Harnack).
Surviving are 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Landt was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville.
Casket bearers were Jim Lenth, George Kuehl, Dennis Foels, Ronald Foels, Neal VanHorn and Loren Foels.
