Funeral services were held Thursday morning, Oct. 12 at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, for Dean Landt who died suddenly Monday evening, October 9, while in the corn field on his farm. The Rev. John Mohr officiated.

Dean Elmer Landt, son of Elmer and Sylvia Jacobson Landt, was born in the Postville hospital, February 24, 1936. He was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana. April 12, 1936, by the Rev. Henry Kumpf and confirmed in the same church July 3, 1949, by the Rev. Harold Adix.

On June 26, 1955, he was united in marriage to Yvonne Schultz at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, by the Rev. Chas. Witt.

Mr. Landt lived in the Luana community all his life and was a life-long member of St. John Lutheran Church, Luana.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Shelby, a junior at M-F-L, a son, Shane, a freshman at M-F-L, his mother, Mrs. Sylvia Landt of Cedar Rapids. His father preceded him in death in July of 1958.

Interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Luana.
