Lucy Lindroth, nee Pahlas, was born in Clayton county, Iowa, January 12, 1883. She was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church at Clayton Center. On February 8, 1901, she was united in marriage to Frank Lindroth. Four children were born to this union, two sons and two daughters.
The deceased spent her childhood and youth around Clayton Center. After her marriage she moved with her husband on a farm near Garnavillo, where they remained two years. Then husband and wife moved on a farm near Luana. After several years on this farm they moved to Luana where they operated a Grocery Store until the year 1938. Thereupon they returned to their present home, where the deceased lived until the time of her death.
During the past few years, the deceased enjoyed fairly good health. Death thus came suddenly and unexpectedly last Thursday evening, February 4, at 9:00 o'clock. She attained the age of 71 years and 23 days.
Her parents, one sister and two grandchildren preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Lindroth, of Luana; two sons: Efferd Lindroth of Waverly and Myron Lindroth of St. Olaf; two daughters: Mrs. Florence Swenson of Postville, and Mrs. Irene DeSotel of Monona; one sister; two brothers; 15 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
