Clarence Millard Larson, son of Martin and Leuna (Peterson) Larson, was born August 17, 1907 in rural Elkader. He received his education in a country school. Clarence was married to Alice Plozel on February 24, 1941 at the E.U.B. parsonage in Monona by Rev. Raduge.
Clarence farmed until 1950. From 1950 to 1970 he did carpentry and painting. He enjoyed doing craft work and repairing antiques.
Clarence died Thursday, August 27, 1992 at Central Community Hospital in Elkader. He was 85.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Adelia Brockmeyer.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; two brothers, Roscoe Larson of Elkader and Aldo Larson of Castalia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 31 at 2 p.m. at Schultz's Funeral home in Monona. The Rev. Gary Dobbins officiated and the organist was Florence Evans. Dolores Kammerer was the vocalist. Pallbearers were Dave, Ronald, Andrew and Loren Plozel, Dave and Lorin Schmelzer and Bernell Kliefoth.
Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of arrangements.
