Funeral services for John Adolph Larson, Waukon, were held Friday, March 23 in the Norway Lutheran Church. The Rev. Keith Klemm officiated.

John Larson was born in Clayton County August 10, 1889, the son of Andrew and Josephine (Peterson) Larson, and died March 20, 1979 at Northgate Manor in Waukon.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran Church and married Gina Louisa Smerud in Spring Grove, Minn., November 26, 1913.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gina; his parents; one grandson; one great-grandchild; two sisters and seven brothers.

Survivors include three sons: Arnold LeRoy Larson of McGregor, Warren Larson and Glenn Larson, both of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Mrs. Myron (Luella) Dettmann of Monona and Mrs. Elmer (Ilene) Heiden of Elkader. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Norway Lutheran Church Cemetery.
