Funeral services were held Tuesday for Ralph Gunderson at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. F. R. Ludwig officiating. Burial was in Postville cemetery.

Mr. Gunderson passed away Saturday at his home near Postville.

Ralph Gunderson, son of Ole E. Gunderson, was born October 14, 1887 at St. Olaf and departed this life at his late home on a farm in Fayette county, near Postville, January 28, aged 62 years.

Mr. Gunderson was an active member of the St. Paul's Lutheran congregation of Postville.

He was united in marriage with Alma Christianson of St. Olaf on November 18, 1920 at the Norway Lutheran Church, St. Olaf, by the Reverend N. Arveson. To this union seven children were born, all of whom survive.

Mr. Gunderson spent almost his entire life as a resident of this vicinity. During World War I he was in the service of his country for approximately a year. After his marriage the family home was established on a farm in Wagner township where he farmed for about 18 years. The next two years were spent on another farm in the same community. A stay of several months in Clermont followed. In 1943 the present home farm was purchased and it was here that Mr. Gunderson spent the closing years of his life.

Left to mourn his passing are his widow; seven children: Ruby, Mrs. Quentin Torkelson, of Farmersburg, Doris, Mrs. Lloyd Niedert, of Waterloo, Fern, Mrs. John Garcia of Hayward, California, Betty, teaching at Tripoli, Arnold of Postville, and Dean and Ralph, at home; four grandchildren, one brother, Gunder Gunderson, of Des Moines; three sisters: Mrs. Louena Jellum, of St. Olaf, Mrs. Frank Anderson, of Arpin, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Thomas Christianson, of Des Moines, as well as other relatives.
