Funeral services were held January 5, 1973 at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, for Henry Gisleson, who died January 3 at the Decorah Treatment Center where he had resided for the last year and a half. The Rev. John Mohr officiated. Interment was in Little Port cemetery.
Henry Cornelius Gisleson was born February 13, 1901 in Marion Township, Clayton County near Elgin, the son of Halvar Gisleson and his wife Mary Odegaard. He was baptized in infancy at the Marion Lutheran church and confirmed at the same church by Pastor Aarvason.
On September 3, 1929 he was united in marriage to Flossie Refle in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The couple lived in the Luana community until 1960 when they moved into the town of Luana.
Surviving are his wife, two sons Romandus of Luana and Marlow of Monona; two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Madonna) Stumme of Postville and Mrs. H. (JoLena) Levenhagen of Monona; ten grandchildren, three brothers, George of Ridgeway and Millard and Clifford of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Alfred.
