Cynthia Joan (Marxen) Petsche, Monona, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, from injuries received in an accident.

The funeral service was at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, Iowa, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009. The Rev.Marvin Bries officiated. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery in Guttenberg.

The family received friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, and one hour before services at the church.

Cynthia Joan (Marxen) Petsche was born on October 10, 1965, in Shakopee MN, the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Sunder) Marxen.

Cynthia graduated from Shakopee Senior High School in 1983. She then received 2 years of college from Winona State. With her degree, Cynthia worked as a hotel manager at the Miss Marquette hotel and casino. While working there she met her future husband Daryl Petsche. They were married on December 9, 2000. Since their marriage, Cynthia and Daryl both have worked as over the road Truck Drivers. When she wasn’t working, Cynthia enjoyed camping, playing cards, watching her favorite NASCAR driver Tony Stewart and she especially loved to ride with the Ranger and Gator Clubs.

Cynthia will be forever loved and cherished by her husband, Daryl; Mother Ruth Marxen of Jordan MN; two sisters, Sandy (Dennis) Gronfor of Roscoe, Ill. and Sue Dodds of Andover, Minn.; two brothers, Frank (Sue) Marxen of San Diego, Calif. and Michael (Jennifer) Marxen of Lakeville, Minn and several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Father Henry Marxen.

In Lieu of flowers, plants, trees, benches, statuary and all other gifts, memorials may be sent to the family of Cynthia Petsche.
