Charlotte Gifford, daughter of Milton and Anna Gordon, was born June 14, 1926 at Postville, Iowa. She died Saturday, February 25, 1995 at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She was 68 years old.

Charlotte was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. She worked at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping department until her retirement in 1991.

Surviving is a daughter, Judy Janish of Omaha, Neb., two sons, Jerome Weiss and Douglass Weiss, both of McGregor; sisters, Lola Heins of Postville, Jean Szabo of Postville, Alice Bareis of Monona, Nancy Dilley of San Diego, Calif., Janet Yauslin and Sharon Nelson of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Duane Gordon, and sister-in-law Pat Gordon; many nieces and nephews; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Doug Mathison officiated, with interment in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at McGregor.
