Agnes Elizabeth Mista Girot died at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville Thursday, Jan. 5, 1989.
She was born November 10, 1899, in Monona, to parents John and Mary Krivanek Mista. She received her elementary and high school education in Monona. After graduating from high school she attended Upper Iowa University and Iowa State College. She also graduated from Hamilton Business College in Cedar Rapids.
Agnes taught in rural schools around Monona for 17 years. She was a bookkeeper for Peglow Motor Co. for 12 years. She was a member of Garden City United Methodist Church and the N. E. Iowa Garden Club.
Preceding her in death were her parents; 2 brothers, John and Joe Mista; and one sister, Mary Strien.
Surviving are 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Ronald Fox, Postville and Joan and Donald Gee, Carrolltown, GA; 5 grandchildren, Davy Fox, Deb Moon, Diana Parker, Vicky Astin and Roy Gee; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 8, 2 p.m. at Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona. Rev. Gary Dobbins officiated. Burial will be in Monona City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dennis Moon, Telmar Olson, Marvin Mohs, Terry Moon, David Fox, Roy Gee, Ed Parker and Phil Astin III. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, in charge of arrangements.
