OBITUARY: Monona, IA Leader newspaper; June 23, 1955
"Miss Moritz Funeral Services Held at Postville"Funeral services for Elizabeth Johanna Moritz, 79, were held last Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Schutte Funeral home in Postville with Rev. L. W. Reuther officiating.
Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
Miss Moritz died Thursday night June 16, of bronchial pneumonia at a home for the aged in East Moline, Ill.
She was born the daughter of William and Marie Stiehl Moritz in Luana, March 6, 1876. When she was 20 years old she went to Chicago, Ill, where she was emplyed most of her life as a department store clerk. Five years ago she moved to the home for the aged at East Moline.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother, Herman.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Emma Peters of Monona, Mrs. Celia Stadtmiller of Luana, Mrs. Minnie Klotzbach of Appleton, Wis. and Mrs. Ella Hubacher of Mason City, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Harry and Ray Peters, Homer Klotzbach, Clarence Hubacher, Ervin Moritz and Gilbert Stadtmiller.
