OBITUARY: (Monona, IA Leader, Dec. 24, 1936)
Ed Stadtmiller, a well known and highly respected citizen of Luana died suddenly at his home on Thursday evening. He had been in poor health for sometime.
Edward Frank Stadtmiller, son of Joseph and Anna Stadtmiller, was born in Oshkosh, Wis., March 23, 1872.
On February 6, 1897, he was united in marriage with Celia Moritz of Elkader, Iowa. To them were born four children.
Mr. Stadtmiller followed the occupation of farming, and with his wife and family lived for the past 28 years on the home place of his parents. (This should be the home place of her parents). By industry and good management he preserved the family home through the years.
He was a good husband and father and well respected by his neighbors and friends.
He death was unexpected and sudden. He became sick Thursday afternoon and passed away about three a.m. on Friday morning, having reached the age of 64 years, 9 months and 3 days.
There are left to mourn; his family, his widow and children: Gilbert of Menasha, Wis., Irene, Mrs. Paul Krueger of Luana, Lawrence of Luana; and Florence, Mrs. Nevin Johnson of Michigan; also two sisters and one brother of Oshkosh, Wis., and one brother of Colby, Wis; and other relatives and friends.
