Bill Carl Moose, 23, of Monona died Saturday, December 12, 2009 near Monona following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services were held Monday, December 21 at the Living Faith United Methodist Parish, Monona. The Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiated. Burial followed in Smithfield Cemetery, rural Monona.
Casketbearers were Jordan Moose, Jared Moose, Kelby Moose, Kyle Muchow, Travis Thornton and Derrin Jones. Leonard Funeral Home of Monona assisted the family with arrangements
Bill was born January 28, 1986 in La Crosse, WI, along with his twin brother, Terry Moose, to Leland and Cindy (Jones) Moose. Bill graduated from MFL/MarMac High School in 2004. He then worked for Northern Engraving in Waukon for one year before attending college in Calmar. He enjoyed all types of video games and working on the computer. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Leland Moose of Monona and Cindy Moose of Waukon; three siblings, Don Moose of Farmersburg, Jennifer Moose of Waukon, and Terry Moose of Monona; one nephew, Damion Hurst; one niece, Joslyn Tobin; maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Bonnie Jones of Harpers Ferry; paternal grandmother, Marilyn Moose of Monona; and maternal great-grandfather, Beacher Bollman of Harpers Ferry.
Bill was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Albert Moose; maternal great-grandparents, Beulah Bollman and Milo and Myrtle Jones; paternal great-grandparents, Gaylord and Lois Moose and Ted and Pearl Timmerman; and his special friend, Loreena Zehrung.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________Weekend Collision On Icy Roadway Claims Wisconsin Pair
The Iowa State Patrol reports a two-vehicle accident north of Monona in Allamakee County claimed the lives of two individuals from Mount Hope, WI Saturday, December 12.
The report indicates that at approximately 10:30 that night a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Bill Moose of Mount Hope, WI was traveling northbound on County Road X26, which was listed as 100% ice covered at the time of the accident. Attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve, Moose lost control of his vehicle, which crossed the center line and was involved in a head-on collision with a vehicle being driven southbound by 78-year-old Arno Schlitter of Luana.
Moose and a passenger, 27-year-old Loreena Zehrung of Mount Hope, WI, both died as a result of injuries received in the crash, with another passenger, 23-year-old Terry Moose of Monona, being injured and transported by ambulance to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Schlitter and his passenger, 69-year-old Josephine Schlitter of Luana, were both transported by ambulance to Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI.
