Rites for Mrs. Nichols~ Mrs. Romanda Nichols, 76, died Saturday Morning (Sept. 29, 1973) at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital following an illness of several hours.
Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Stan Dillich at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Brown Cemetery at Colesburg with the following pallbearers; Harlan, Maloy, Robert, Richard and John Zittergruen and Delores Thein.Romanda Marie Nichols was the daughter of Charles and Caroline Brandenberg Zittergruen and was born June 4, 1897 near Garber. She was married Sept. 27, 1915 to Norman Nichols. The couple lived in the Greeley area, coming to Guttenberg in 1948. Mr. Nichols died May 9, 1949.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bert (Luyverl) Hansel of Scales Mound Ill.; Three sons, Walter of Guttenberg, Carl of Decorah and Wilfred of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Adam (Lucena) Thein of Guttenberg and five brothers, Louis and Arnold of Guttenberg, and Emil, William and Elmer all of Garber.
The Tuecke-Allenstein Funeal Home was in charge of Arrangements.
