Mary M. Spragg, 55, of Farmersburg, Iowa, died suddenly on Saturday afternoon, May 30, 2009 at home.

Mary Margarite Larson was born on March 20, 1954, at Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Harold L. and Marguerite (Warnke) Larson. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein.Mary attended Oelwein Community High School until the 11th grade and then received her GED from MFL High School and later earned degrees in business management, bookkeeping, and computer drafting from the Northeast Iowa Community College in 2006 where she was on the dean's list. Mary married Donald Dean Spragg on August 8, 1971, at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein. She worked at Products Unlimited in Guttenberg as a test auditor and senior final auditor from 1991 to 2004. Mary then worked at Cabelas in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin as a packer and shipper in distribution from 2006 to present.

Mary is survived by her husband Donald Spragg of Farmersburg, two daughters, Marguerite (Ed) White of McGregor, Jenifer (Brian) Gontermon of Oelwein, a son, Robert Spragg of Everett, Washington; eight grandchildren, Klarista, Evan, Teagan, Alyssa, and Brennan White, Christopher Lee Kammerer, and Kayla and Heather Gontermon; stepmother, Lucille (Walt) Taubeneck of Marysville, Washington; three sisters, Vivian Miller of Fayette, Iowa, Charlotte (James) Miller of Jesup, Iowa, Sandy (Tom) Kisner of Oelwein, Iowa; four brothers, Terry Larson of Hazleton, Iowa, Larry "Red" (Zella) Larson of Luana, Iowa, Junior H.(Connie) Larson of Oelwein, Iowa, James (Pat) Larson of Oelwein, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister (Bonnie Hassler) and two brothers, Wayne Larson and Harry Larson.

Funeral services were Friday, June 5, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein, Iowa with Rev. Charis Combs-lay officiating. Interment was at Hazleton (Fontana Addition) Cemetery at Hazleton, Iowa. The Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home assisted the family.
