ELKADER, Iowa -- Diane Amelia McTaggart, 60, of Elkader, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at her home, following a short illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Elkader, with the Rev. Paul R. Peters as celebrant. Burial of the cremated remains will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Elkader. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church. The Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, is in charge of
arrangements.

She was born on Dec. 12, 1948, in West Union, daughter of Donald and Bernadine (Harnack) Browne. She married Patrick McTaggart on May 27, 1995, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elkader.

For the past 16 years, Diane was employed by the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are her husband, Patrick, of Elkader; a son, Ryan (Tonia) Robinson, of Elkader; a stepson, Sean (Melissa) McTaggart, of Minneapolis; a stepdaughter, Erin Zein, of North Liberty; brothers, Dennis (Kimberly) Browne, of Onanock, Va., and Jerry (Sharon) Browne, of Iowa City; a sister, Cindy (Dave) Wilker, of Elkader; her father, Donald (Anne) Browne, of Dubuque; her mother-in-law, Mary Virginia McTaggart, of Winter Park, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Colleen Nading, of Cedar Rapids, Dianne (Dennis) Wall, of Winter Springs, Fla., and Maureen (Tom) Reinert, of Parkersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernadine Albert.
