Frink, Linda Louise (Gibbs) 1936-2009

Linda Louise Frink, age 73, of Monona died Monday, November 16, 2009 in LaCrosse, WI. Services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona. Hanson Funeral Home of Waukon assisted the family.

Linda was born October 16, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Harold and Elanor (Kramer) Gibbs. After 17 years of education, she worked as a secretary until her retirement, and also worked as an apartment manager, bookkeeper and school bus driver. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monona, was a leader for 4-H and Boy Scouts, served on area rescue squads, was involved in hunter safety, and had an interest in quilting.

Linda was a wonderful housewife, homemaker and grandma. She was especially known for her love of sewing and quilting and for all of her loving and wonderful years devoted to all the children. In her later years, she enjoyed and was part of her grandson's racing. She will be greatly missed and always loved.

July 22, 1969 Linda married John (Cletus) Frink at Ft. Benton, Montana, and they enjoyed 40 wonderful years of marriage together. In addition to Montana, they also lived in Des Moines, McGregor and Monona.

Survivors include her husband; her children, Larry Engen of Prairie du Chien, WI, Doreen (Duane) Southwick of Elkader, Ken (Sandy) Engen of Monona, Jim (Lori) Engen of McGregor, and Sharon (Erich) Ambrecht of Wyoming; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings Carolyn (Tony) Schaufenbil and John (Sandy) Gibbs of Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents.
