Inquest Into Traffic Death of Dr. Leo S. Rowe
Washington, Dec 6 - A coroner's inquest will be held here today in the traffic death of Dr. Leo S. Rowe, 75, director general of the Pan-American union for the past 26 years. Rowe was injured fatally last night when hit by an automobile while crossing a street in front of the Bolivian embassy. the driver of the car, Corp. Elmer I. Klavon, a member of the Bolling field army motor pool, was placed under technical arrest and turned over to military authorities pending the inquest.
Rowe, a bachelor and the last member of his family, was a native of McGregor, Iowa. He will be succeeded temporarily by Dr. Pedro de Alba, assistant director general of the union. The union is the official international organization of the 21 republics of the western hemisphere.

~Note: His ashes are inurned in the Pan American Union building in Washington, D.C. According to his biography (see Biography Board) Dr. Leo S. Rowe was born at McGregor, Iowa September 17, 1871.
