Mabel Marie Timmerman Kruse was born Feb. 6, 1918 in Allamakee County, IA, to parents William and Hermina (Witt) Timmerman. She was baptized in the Evangelical faith on March 20, 1918 in her parents' home, and confirmed Dec. 15, 1946 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona.
She received her education in the Figgie Country School and worked most of her life as a homemaker.
On Feb. 20, 1946 Mabel was united in marriage to Verni Kruse in the Evangelical Church, Monona. To this union one daughter, Delpha, was born. The couple farmed in Linton Twp. for 31 years. In 1977 they moved into Monona.
Mabel died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, Ia.
Preceding her in death were her parents; eight brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are her husband, Verni; one daughter, Delpha (David) Trappe, of Monona, IA; three grandchildren: Julie (Frank) Henkels of Monona, IA, Sheri (Travis) Landt of Luana, IA; and Cory Trappe of Monona, IA; one great grandchild Jordan Henkels; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Timmerman and Lavina Timmerman, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 31, 2000 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, IA. Rev. Eugene Kramer and Rev. Christopher Staley officiated.
Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona, Iowa. Pallbearers were Wilburt Topel, Delbert Timmerman, Roger Timmerman, Jason Ferguson, Roger Bechtel, and Robert Topel.
