Funeral services for Harold Koopmann were held Monday, March 29, 1993 at Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona. Rev. Gary Dobbins officiated. Organist was Ric Benzing and soloist was Carole Gerdes. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Roger Bernhard, David Beisker, Dick Augustine, Tom Grady, John Boardman, Charles Fick and Don Schofield. Pallbearers were Kim Koopmann, Keith Marovets, Stanley Marovets, Morris Henkes, Steven Marovets, and Eldon Kurth. Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of services.

Harold Louis Koopmann was born February 27, 1914 in Clayton County, Iowa, near Postville, to parents Johann Heinrich (Henry) and Johanna Detert Koopmann. He received his education in Henderson Prairie School near Postville.

On June 1, 1943 Harold was united in marriage to Margaret Hazel Marovets at the Methodist Church in Monona. The couple farmed in the Monona area until retiring in the fall of 1979. They moved into Monona after retiring.

Harold died Saturday, March 27, 1993 at his home in Monona. He was a member of Garden City United Methodist Church, on the rural board of the Monona fire department and the Monona Cemetery Board. He enjoyed hunting.

Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant daughter; four brothers, Gerhardt, Alfred, Adolph and Richard, and one sister, Ella Kurth.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret; one daughter and her husband, Judy and Jon Bang of Peterson, Iowa; one brother, Harlan of Cedar Rapids, and two sisters, Freida Henkes of Eastman, WI, and Irma Hess of Brookfield, WI.
