Alma Oldag

Funeral services for Alma Oldag, were held Saturday, August 27, 1981 at 10:30 a. m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Alma Louise Margaret Oldag, daughter of Christian and Katherine (Poesch) Ruckdaschel, was born November 9, 1894 on a farm in Grand Meadow Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She passed away August 25, 1983 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.

She was baptized December 22, 1894 by Rev. Newmann at St. Paul Lutheran Church and confirmed there on April 12, 1908 by Rev. Kuhne. She attended the rural schools of Clayton County.

On February 12, 1918 she was united in marriage with Edward J. Oldag. To this union three children were born. They lived their entire life in the Postville area.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward, who died April 12, 1974, a daughter, Delilah (Mrs. Laurence Knudtson), one grandchild, two great grandchildren, four brothers, John, Fred, Walter and Victor, and a sister in infancy.

Surviving are two daughters, Bernice (Mrs. Robert Schneider) and Virginia (Mrs. Dale Anderson), both of Postville, seven grandchildren, Kathryn Meyer of St. Lucas, Marcia Amundson of Fargo, ND, Dr. Allen Schneider and Dr. Robert Schneider, both of Duncanville, TX, Douglas Anderson and Beth Snitker, both of Postville, and Ruth Schneider of Iowa City and nine great grandchildren.

She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a member of the LCW.
