Joseph T. Olson Interred Monday At Clermont

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the East Clermont Lutheran Church for Joseph T. Olson, 60, who passed away at Decorah Hospital on Friday, March 19. Rev. S. B. Knudsen pastor of East church, was in charge of the rites.

Joseph Theodore Olson was born on July 25, 1893 at Browns Valley, Minnesota, the son of Thomas and Josephine Brorby Olson and passed away at the Decorah Hospital on Friday, March 19, 2:30 p.m., at the age of 60 years, seven months and 22 days.

At the age of eight years he came with his parents to the Clermont community and settled on the Jens Brorby homestead in Clayton county. On February 8, 1917, he was united in marriage to Lillian Irene Kittleson, and to this union were born three sons and one daughter.

Mr. Olson was confirmed and married in the East Clermont Church.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife; four children, Sgt. Irvin Olson of Wayne, Michigan; Lyle at home; Clifford who lived on the home farm, and Chrystol, Mrs. Ted Lovely, of Santa Ana, California; five grandchildren, Dennis, Daryl, Frankie, Jeanie and Judy Olson; two sisters, Mrs. Enoch (Alma) Mork and Mrs. Harry (Esther) Helgerson; and one brother James, all of this community.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lyle [Genevieve Peters] Olson.

Relatives coming from a distance were from LeRoy, Minnesota, Charles City, Manchester, Decorah, Des Moines, West Union and Postville.
