Olvin O. Olson

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 24, at 2:00 p.m., at the Marion Lutheran Church, Gunder, for Olvin O. Olson who died in Elgin, October 21 of a heart attack. The Rev. Robert Henriksen officiated. Burial was in the Marion cemetery.

Olvin, the son of Ole and Margit Olson, was born December 26, 1919 on a farm east of Gunder. He was baptized March 7, 1920 and confirmed September 1, 1935 in the Marion Church, Gunder.

He received his education from the local school and August 19, 1943 entered the U. S. Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge March 3, 1946. He then returned to farming.

On October 22, 1950 he was united in marriage to Deloris Bergan at the Marion Church in Gunder. To this union a daughter Vicky was born and a son Bradley, who died in infancy.

The couple farmed east of Gunder until December, 1963 when Mr. Olson went to work for the Bob Falb Implement Co., Elgin and was employed there until the time of his death.

Mr. Olson was a lifelong member of the Marion Lutheran Church, a council member and was church custodian for the past 15 years. He belonged to the American Legion Post in St. Olaf.

Preceding him in death were his parents and infant son Bradley. Survivors include his wife Deloris, daughter Mrs. John (Vicky) Rosenbaum of Marshalltown; his sister, Selina Embretson, Farmersburg, and three brothers, Telmer of Monona; Harry, Green Bay, Wisconsin and Milton of Gunder and many nieces and nephews.
