Milton Nelson

Funeral services for Milton "Mick" Waldamore Nelson were held Monday, April 15, 2 p.m. at the Elgin Lutheran Church, Elgin. Rev. Harold McMillin officiated. Organist was Mrs. Don Sutter and soloist was Arthur Amundson.

Milton Nelson, son of William Nelson and Alma Mork Nelson, was born September 27, 1916 in Clayton County at home. He died the morning of April 12, 1991 as the result of a car accident north of Luana.

He was baptized and confirmed at East Clermont Lutheran Church and is a member of the Elgin Lutheran Church.

He received his education at the Larabee Elementary Grand Meadow Township School. He then worked for his uncle and aunt Melvin and Clara Olson doing farm work. He bought a farm east of Monona on the Military Road. He and Carrie Lembke were married at Elgin Lutheran Church on August 8, 1970.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Almer Leo and a sister Winnifred.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie; son, Roger, McGregor; daughter, Donna, Prairie du Chien, WI; sisters, Vinah Shipton, Clermont and Virginia House, Dubuque; a brother, William Nelson, Jr., Clermont; 2 grandsons; 5 step children; 13 step grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Robert Schultz, Allen Leas, Harold Vorwald, Ray Sweeney, Keith Grady, Clifton Christianson.
