Clifford L. Nelson

Funeral services were held for Clifford L. Nelson, 74, Thursday, April 16, 1992, at the Leonard-Witt Funeral Home, Elkader. Burial followed in Norway Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural St. Olaf. Honorary pallbearers were Henry (Red) Possehl and Melvin Scott. Pallbearers were Ed Nelson, Gary Thurn, William Thurn, Harlan Thurn, Jr., Dwayne Bahls and Don Dohrer.

Clifford L. Nelson was born October 18, 1917, in Farmersburg Township to Lloyd and Lucy (Schmidt) Nelson. On August 21, 1937, he was united in marriage to Kathrine M. Dohrer in Elkader. He worked at the Oscar Mayer Company for 27 years. He was a member of Luther Memorial Church in Madison for over 35 years. Clifford Nelson died Monday, April 13, 1992 at Madison Convalescent Center.

Survivors include his wife, Kathrine Nelson, Poynette, Wis.; his mother, Lucy Nelson, Guttenberg; a brother, Leighton (Yvonne) Nelson, Elkader; three sisters, Dorothy (Bill) Schmidt of Guttenberg, Arleen Thurn of Littleport, and June (Lorrain) Horstman of Guttenberg.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Nelson.
