Hold Rites For Clay P. Noack
Funeral services for Clay P. Noack, 84, were held Saturday, June 7, 1980 at 11 a.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. The Rev. David R. Nelson officiated. Burial was at 2:30 p.m.at St. Paul Cemetery, Guttenberg, Iowa.
Clay Patrick Noack, son of James and Annie (Kottke) Noack, was born March 15, 1896 in Jefferson Township, Clayton County, Iowa. He died June 5, 1980 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.
He was married to Helma Brandenberg Feb. 3, 1920. They farmed in Clayton and Winneshiek Counties until retiring and moving to Postville in 1962. He was a WW I veteran and a member of the American Legion, and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a son, James Henry in infancy; three brothers, Harry, Galen and Roy; and a sister, Ella in infancy.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Virgil of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Schultz of Postville; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard of Guttenberg; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Schlake of Waukon and Mrs. Carrie Smith of Guttenberg.
