Rachel Elizabeth Paulson

Rachel Elizabeth Paulson, 16, oldest daughter of Thomas and Teresa (Terri McNally) Paulson, 5935 Beechtree Drive, West Des Moines, died of cancer Thursday, November 9, 2000.

Miss Paulson was born at Grand Island, Nebraska on June 11, 1984. She was baptized January 20, 1985 at Grand Island. She lived in Wausau, Wisconsin before moving to the West Des Moines area in 1988.

Services were held November 13 at Walnut Hills United Methodist Church, where she was confirmed on April 20, 1997. She was active in the church.

Rachel was a Junior at Valley High School, and a student at Betty Hill Dance Studio. She was involved in Girl Scouts, playing the flute and piano, mimes, and school plays. Her freshman year she was football and basketball cheerleader at Valley Southwood Freshmen School.

She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Robert L. (Bob) McNally and Dr. Hubert Paulson, two uncles, Ron Paulson and Rand McNally. In addition to her parents, Rachel is survived by two sisters, Laura and Hilary, grandmothers Wanda McNally of Luana, Iowa, and Orma Paulson of Lincoln, Nebraska, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Burial was at Resthaven Cemetery, West Des Moines.
