Obituary.

Johann Aberham Kraussle

On Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1901 occurred the death of Johann Aberham Kraussle. He was born in Flworn, Wurtemberg, on April 15, 1823.

After completing his schooling he learned the cooper trade. After serving his apprenticeship he saw the greater part of Germany as a journeyman cooper. From 1845 to 1850 he served as a soldier in the army of Germany.

On May 13, 1851, he arrived in America and on May 13, 1852, he was married to Widow Kieber. There was one son born to them, Andrew, who died in 1889.

He leaves a wife and one son, John, besides a large number of relatives to mourn his death.

Mr. Kraussle followed the cooper trade in this city until the prohibitory law caused the breweries to close down which practically killed the cooper trade here. The funeral was held at his late residence on Friday, Oct. 23, 1901, with interment in the City cemetery. E.C. Ennen delivered the funeral addresses at the home and cemetery. May he rest in peace.

Submitter’s note: “Widow Kieber” - her name was Katherine. According to the 1860 US Federal Census, Andrew was 15 years old (born about 1845) in Wurttemberg. John and Katherine were married in 1852 in America. Andrew could be the son of Katherine and her first husband.
