Vern Sheffert Sr.

Funeral for Vern J. Sheffert Sr., retired Oregon Liquor Control Commission outlet manager, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Young's Funeral Home, with interment in Mount Calvary Mausoleum. Mr. Sheffert died Monday in a Tualatin hospital at age 83. He was born in Guttenburg, Iowa, and moved to Baker and then to the Tigard area in 1951. He was a member of the Baker Elks Lodge No. 338. He retired from OLCC after 12 years in 1963. Survivors are his wife, Alice; son, John of Montrose, Colo.; sister, Viola Ferguson of Monona, Iowa; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
