Selma M. Quamme
Selma M. Quamme was born April 10, 1891, to Charles and Linda Caroline Meyer Thies, in rural Monona, Iowa. She received her education in the Monona Public School.
March 4, 1913, she married Edward Nicholas Quamme at Postville. The couple lived in Minneapolis, MN for 5 years, after which they made their home in Waterloo, IA.
Selma died April 29, 1987 at Convenant Medical Center-Schoitz in Waterloo, IA.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Edward, who died April 23, 1958; two brothers, George and Rudy Theis; and four sisters, Emma Landt, Alta Baade, Tina Wilke and Alma Christofferson. Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona. The Rev. Gene Kramer officiating. Burial was in Monona City Cemetery. Organist, Helmuth Lundt.
Pallbearers were Larry Valboda, Helmuth Landt, Robert Perry, LaVern Landt, Allen Landt and Niel Landt. Schultz's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
