Charles August Erickson
Funeral services were held for Charles August Erickson, 72, Monday, Jan. 24, 1994, at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg. Pastor Bruce L. Hanson officiated the service with burial in Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, Farmersburg. Pallbearers were members of St. Olaf American Legion Post #388.
Charles Erickson was born September 18, 1921, near Elgin, Iowa, the son of Albert and Ida (Wilson) Erickson. He married Norma Jean Plummer June 10, 1946, at Nashua, Iowa. He farmed in the Farmersburg area most of his life. Charles was a WWII Marine veteran. He belonged to the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. Charles Erickson died suddenly Friday, Jan. 21, 1994, at his winter home in McAllen, Texas.
Survivors include his wife Norma; two sons, Don and Ken both of Farmersburg; a daughter Joyce Phillips of Delhi; six grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Mindy Erickson, Rob, Tracy and Christopher Phillips; three brothers, Albert Jr. of Farmersburg, William of Elgin and Stanley of Elkader; two sisters, Priscilla Groff of Central City, and Ivanelle Dennler of Elkader.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Evelyn.
