Mrs. Emma Palas Passes

Sorrowing words were passed around Tuesday morning that Mrs. Emma Palas had passed away late Monday night at the New Hampton Hospital at the age of 56 years. She was taken there a few weeks ago and on December 22nd was operated on for gall stones, which seemed to be successful, but on Sunday she was stricken with bronchitis set in causing her death. Her husband and three children preceded her in death, and she leaves to mourn her loss five sons and three daughters, Arthur and LeRoy who live on farms near Luana; Henry at Rossville; Mrs. Ella Meyer of Postville; Helen, Margaret, LaVern, and Glenn at home. The funeral was held on Friday at 10:30 from the old farm home, where the oldest son, Arthur, lives, and from there to the Lutheran Church, Rev. H.P. Kumph officiating. Interment in the Lutheran Cemetery.
