Robert R. Ruckhaber Services Held

Robert R. Ruckhaber was born February 28, 1915 in Allamakee County, the son of William and Jessie (May) Ruckhaber. He attended the rural schools of the area.

Bob served in the armed forces of the United States during World War II, being inducted at Des Moines January 22, 1942, and served with the 1609scu MP Detachment of Chicago as corporal. He was discharged November 17, 1945.

He was employed by the Mississippi Valley Milk Producers Association (MVMPA) at Luana until his retirement. He was a life member of Amvets Post 27.

Robert died October 4, 1977 at Veteran Memorial Hospital, Waukon, Iowa at the age of 62 years, 7 months and 6 days. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Abbott and Tom, and sisters, Matie Thornton and Hazel Decker, and two sisters in infancy. Surviving are 4 sisters: Margaret Stanfield, Michigan, Delaney Bloxham and Rosetta Wickham of Waukon, Nellie Egeberg of Brookings, S. D., and 3 brothers: William of Harrisonville, Mo., Albert and Jim of Luana.

Funeral services were held October 6, 1977 at the Schultz Funeral Home, Monona, Iowa at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Curtis Webster, Postville, officiating. He was laid to rest in the Monona City Cemetery with military rites by Amvets Post 27.

Pallbearers were: Lamoine Wentz, Ronnie Schrader, Vern Kuenster, Robert Krambeer, Lavern Schrader, Richard Koehn, Lynn Hangartner and Leslie Dunning.
