C. Adrian Riveland

Funeral services for C. Adrian Riveland were held Monday, March 23, 1987 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Luana. Pastor Ted Ager officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona was in charge of services.

C. Adrian Riveland was born June 9, 1911, in Ossian, Iowa, to parents Cornell and Agnes Bakken Riveland. Adrian died March 21, 1987 at Postville Community Hospital following a long illness. He was baptized June 14, 1911 and confirmed September, 1925 in the Lutheran faith. He received his high school education in Ossian and graduated from Luther College, Decorah in 1932.

December 29, 1947 he married Norma J. Hinman in Mason City. He was a banker in Postville and Clermont until becoming an officer and director of Luana Savings Bank in 1939. He was co-owner of Hoth-Haymover Co. and Chase Manufacturing in Luana.

Adrian served as Past-President of N. E. Iowa Council, Boy Scouts of America, Monona Kiwanis, Clayton County Bankers Asso., Iowa Vice-President of American Lutheran Church men, and co-founder of Tri-City Golf Club. He was a member of Luana Community Club, St. John Lutheran Church Council, and B. P. O. Elks Lodge and many other professional, charitable and civic organizations. He received many professional and civic awards for his contribution.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother who died in infancy.

Surviving is his wife Norma; sons, Chase of Oylmpia, WA and Larry of Monona; daughter, Lynn Marsh of Dallas, OR; 3 grandchildren, one great grandchild and two sisters, Rosalind Amundson of Ossian and Laura Marie Soreide of Cedar Rapids.

Pallbearers were Dale Linderbaum, Robert Schultz, Neil Meyer, Matthew Erickson, Dr. Paul Moser and Dr. Donald Fields. Honorary pallbearers were Milton Nelson, Wayne Flack, Duane Scheffert, John Doerring, Bill Staley, Ivon Schultz and Dwain M. Walter.
