Harriet LaVonne (Gerndt) Harry

Services for Mrs. Harriet L. Harry, 68, of 401 Cedar Cross Road, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Congregational Church of Christ. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at DeWachter-Haudenshield Funeral Home, 2170 Central Ave.

Mrs. Harry was a homemaker. She was born on Jan. 24, 1924 in McGregor, Iowa, daughter of Theodore Edward and Bertha May (Durr) Gerndt. She died at 5:37 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 1992, at The Finley Hospital.

She married Lloyd Edward Harry on July 12, 1942; he died on May 28, 1967.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Christ.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Karel) Reinert of Dubuque, Mrs. William (Jackye) Urbain of Sherrill, Iowa, and Mrs. Ron (Barbara) Wood of Otter Creek, Iowa; five sons, Theodore "Ted" ( Lynda) Harry of East Dubuque, Ill., Gary Harry of Rochester, Minn., Lloyd and ( Valerie) Harry, David (Connie) Harry, and Brian Harry, all of Dubuque; and 20 grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death was a son, Duane, in 1946 and a daughter, Mary K., in 1963.
