Edward (Ned) Rose, 22, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, at about 4 p.m. in a one-car accident on the county highway about one mile north of Monona.
Authorities said he apparently lost control of his car on a slippery stretch of the gravel road. The car rolled over three times and Rose was thrown some 80 feet from the wreckage.

He received his education in the Figgie rural school and M-F-L Community High school from which he graduated in 1968. Except for two years in the armed forces, he spent his entire life in the Monona vicinity. He served one year in Vietnam.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning, Oct. 23, at 10:30 o'clock at St. Patrick Catholic church with Father Donald Heineman reading the requiem mass. Burial was in the adjoining church cemetery with Clayton County Amvets Post No. 27 and American Legion Leslie H. Smith Post No. 519 of Monona providing a military escort and rites at the grave.
