Carl C. Radloff

Carl Clarence Theodore Radloff died Saturday, July 13 at Central Community Hospital, Elkader after an extended illness. Services were conducted yesterday at St. John's Lutheran church, Farmersburg, with Pastor Bob Edwards officiating. Burial was in the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Peter Berns, Melvin Matt, J. J. Mathews, Clarence Engelhardt, keith Radloff and David Moody. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona was in charge of arrangements.

Carl Clarence Theodore Radloff was born May 8, 1904 in Read Township, Clayton County, the son of William and Wilimena (Glawe) Radloff. He was baptized July 31, 1904 by Pastor F. Limmenbueger and confirmed March 31, 1918 by Pastor G. F. Braun in St. John's Lutheran of Farmersburg. He received his education in the Farmersburg school and was a member of St. John's Lutheran.

On Sept. 10, 1925 he was married to Alice Buckman at Garnavillo by Pastor William Braun.

They had 3 children. They farmed until 1968 when they retired to their home in Farmersburg. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.

Preceding him in death were 2 brothers, Lawrence and Verdine.

Survivors include his wife Alice, his daughter Joyce Dettmann, of Monona, two sons, L'Dean, of Springfield, OH and Roger of Postville, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Arno (Irma) Henning of Farmersburg and Mrs. Earl (Esther) Young of Prairie du Chien, WI.
