Richard Joseph McNally
Richard Joseph McNally died Dec. 31, 1985 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.
Funeral services were Friday, Jan. 3 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Postville. The Rev. Paul Orring officiated. Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge.
Pall bearers were Martie Adams, Wayne Kleppe, Dwayne Brink, Richard Duvel, Lee Kleppe and Bruce Goeke.
The son of Richard E. and Flora (Ziegler) McNally, he was born November 27, 1896 in Emmett County, Iowa.
He received his education in the rural schools of Clayton County. Oct. 20, 1919 he married Frieda Buckman. They had 3 children: Richard, Rosalyn and Margaret.
May 28, 1931 he was married to Julana Bray. Nine children were born to this union: Marlys, Marlene, Dorothy, Beulah, John, Fronzie, Flora, Milton and Gloria.
He lived most of his life in the Postville area. He farmed for a time, worked as a truck driver and then at the Frankville Cheese Factory.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Julana, 2 sons, Richard and Milton and a daughter, Dorothy, 2 brothers, Wallace and Lloyd and a sister, Mae Krambeer.
Surviving is a son, John, of Waukon; 8 daughters, Rosalyn (Mrs. Elmer Krambeer), Beulah (Mrs. Richard Fadnes), Flora Brink and Gloria Duvel, all of Postville, Margaret Sebasitan of Dubuque, Marlys (Mrs. Donald Kleppe) of West Union, Marlene (Mrs. Reuben Adam) of Decorah, Fronzie Jones of Nolonville, TX; 43 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 2 brothers, Louis and Leo, both of Postville and 2 sisters, Elsie Trudo of Clermont and Rose Mork of Pahrump, NV.
He was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Postville.
