Lester L. Krambeer
The lone fatality was Lester L. Krambeer, 49, Farmersburg, who was killed instantly when his car left the road and struck a telephone post on Highway 52 about one and one-half miles southeast of Monona at 4:25 Friday. Friday was Krambeer's birthday.

Lester Louis Krambeer, son of John J. and Clara Emma Henkes Krambeer, was born March 01, 1908, in Wagner township, Clayton county, Iowa, and died Friday, March 01, 1957, at 4:30 p.m. in an automobile accident.
Mr. Krambeer received his education at the rural school in Wagner township.
On June 27, 1927, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Marie Drahn at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. After their marriage they lived on farms near Monona until 1940 when they moved to their own farm now operated by their son LuVerne. In 1952 they retired from the farm and moved to Farmersburg. Since that time Mr. Krambeer had worked as an attendant at the Probert oil station and as a seed corn salesman.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church, Monona, until 1956 when he became a member of St. John Lutheran church, Farmersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Verdall, Kenneth and Burnell Krambeer.
Survivors are his wife, one son, LuVerne, Farmersburg; three daughters, Mrs. Duane (Verda Mae) Lamker, Monona; Mrs. Eugene (Marilyn) Baade, McGregor, and Judith Krambeer, Farmersburg; four grandchildren, Randall and Ganelle Lamker, Monona: Steven and Debra Baade, McGregor; and seven brothers and sisters, Harold Krambeer, Farmersburg; Mrs. Herb (Edna) Ihde, Monona; Myron Krambeer, Ossian; Mrs. Louis (Lucille) McNally, Postville; Mrs. Freddie (Lorane) Neverman, Monona; Mrs. Robert (Irma) Meyer, Postville, and Gerald Krambeer, McGregor.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran church, Farmersburg, Tuesday, March 05, 1957, with the Rev. R. H. Steege officiating. Burial was in the Monona Lutheran cemetery, Monona.
Pallbearers were James Probert, Herb Zurcher, Harley Palas, Orval Mueller, Albert Doeppke, Stanton Klinge, Dayton Marfilius and Oscar Carlson. Honorary pallbearers were Hugo Vogt, Orville Wirkler, Elgie Gerguson, Harvey Dahms, Harry Kuthe, Clarence Kliefoth, Otto Rossbach and Herb Deal.
Assisting with the flowers were Mrs. James Probert, Mrs. Harley Palas and Mrs. Herb Zurcher.
