Rites Are Held For Mrs. Krambeer
Funeral services are being held this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Community
Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Louis Krambeer, 74, who passed away at Postville Hospital on Sunday. The Rev. Walter T. Martin is in charge of the rites. Burial will be in Postville cemetery.Cora Josephine Walter, daughter of Michael and Louisa Walter, was born October 10, 1880 in Wagner township, Clayton county, Iowa. She died at the Postville Community Hospital, Sunday, August 28, at the age of 74 years, following a lingering illness. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian church.
She attended the rural schools in Wagner township. She was a piano teacher for a number of years who rode around the country on horseback to give lessons at the homes of her pupils.
On November 27, 1906 she was united in marriage to Louis C. Krambeer at Monona. The couple farmed at several locations in Clayton county. Their last farm was in Grand Meadow township where they farmed until 1941 when they moved to Postville.
Mrs. Krambeer was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1946. Her parents, three sisters, four brothers and one grandson also preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Gerhardt (Ellen) Koopman of Luana, Mrs. Lawrence (Helen) Bollman of Monona, Mrs. Dale (Evelyn) Meyer of Postville; three sons, Lawrence of Decorah, Arno and Elmer of Luana; one sister, Mrs. Verena Eno of Sheffield, Iowa, 36 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
