Harry W. Hoth

ELKADER, Iowa -- Harry W. Hoth, 63, of 2209 St. Celia, Dubuque, formerly of the Elkader area, died suddenly Wednesday morning, Nov. 7, 2007, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, with the Rev. Helen Beth Kuhens officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be at 1:30 p.m. in Bethel Cemetery, Osterdock.

Mr. Hoth worked for Interstate Power Co. for 33 years, transferring to Dubuque in 1973, and retired in 1999.

He was born Aug. 7, 1944, in rural Elkader, son of Harry and Ivanelle (Doeppke) Hoth. He received his education at Central Community High School in Elkader, graduating in 1962.

He was united in marriage to Sharon Faust, of Guttenberg, on June 27, 1964. A daughter, Debbie was born on Oct. 13, 1966.

Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing and yard work. He started his days with friends, Frank, Pat and Bob, and coffee and gossip.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Hoth, of Dubuque; his daughter and family, Debbie (Rick) Nadermann, his pride and joy grandsons, C. J. and Cory, all of Dubuque; his mother, Ivanelle Hoth, of Elkader; brothers, Gary (Gloria) Hoth and Larry (Teresa) Hoth, both of Lake City, Minn.; his sister, Yvonne Hoth, of Cedar Rapids; his mother-in-law, Verdamay Faust, of Guttenberg; and brothers-in-law, Bob (Deb) Faust and Mike (Tina) Faust, all of Osterdock.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Hoth Sr.; and his father-in-law, Bob Faust.
