Funeral service were held at 2:00 P.M. November 06, 2007 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa with interment at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Monona, Iowa for Lawrence R. Krueger, 97, of Monona, who died Friday morning, November 2, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, following a long illness. He was born December 3, 1909, in Linton Twp. of Allamakee Co. to Henry Albert and Marie (Heller) Krueger. He attended country schools in the area.
He was united in marriage to Edna Gager on September 7, 1938 in West Union. St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona was very important to them, where Lawrence was a life long member. Lawrence was a carpenter and sheep shearer for many years in the area.
Both Lawrence and Edna resided at the Postville Good Samaritan Center. Edna preceded him in death on November 12, 2004. He was also preceded by his parents; eight sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law, Jean Moritz of West Union and Elaine Baade of Cedar Rapids.
