Daniel J. Kinley, 69, of McGregor, Iowa, died Friday, Dec. 29, at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wis., following a long illness.

The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007. at St. Mary Catholic Church, McGregor, with burial in St. Pius Cemetery Cherry Mound, rural Harpers Ferry, Iowa.

A rosary service by the Knights of Columbus was said at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1 and a scripture service was held at 7:30 p.m. Friends could call from 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 1 at the Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home in McGregor.

Daniel Kinley was born Oct. 10, 1937, to Frank and Agnes (Orr) Kinley near Harpers Ferry. He graduated from high school in Waukon, Iowa. He married Joan Meana on Nov. 18, 1960, at Eitzen, Minn. He was employed by 3-M in Prairie du Chien for many years.

He is survived by four children: Jennifer Kinley (Bill Schramm) of Marquette, Iowa; Dan (Karen) Kinley of Elgin, Ill.; Jeff (Tammy) Kinley and Russ (Carla) Kinley, all of McGregor; seven grandchildren: Mallory, Cameron, Erin, Emily, Ellie, Briana and Beau; one brother, Adrian (Patricia) Kinley and one sister, Theresa (Eugene) Mielke, all of Monona, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joan on March 20, 2006, and brothers and sisters.
