Mary Helen Thompson died February 17, 1991 at the Prairie Health Care Center, Prairie du Chien, WI. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 20, 1991 at 11 am. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona, with Father Donald Peters, Father John Moran and Father Robert Levenhagen officiating.
She was born February 2, 1908, daughter of George and Catherine McDonald Peters, at Monona, Iowa. She received her education in the Monona schools and at Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She taught for several years in the country schools around Monona.
On September 30, 1930 she married Dugald Thompson at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona and a member of St. Patrick's Rosary Society. She lived in the Monona area for all of her life.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Dugald; 3 brothers, Jim, Gregor and John and a sister Catherine.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Margaret) Grove of Harpers Ferry; a son, Leo Thompson of Quincy, IL.; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a brother, Father Donald Peters of Cedar Rapids.
Pallbearers were Virgil, LeRoy, Clyde, and Dick Thompson, Harlan Hass and John Wachter.
