Russell Tindell

Russell G. Tindell, 23, of Cedar Rapids, died at 12:04 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 1978 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday in St. Peter Lutheran Church in Garnavillo. Burial was in the Guttenberg City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary Werger, Robert Hoth, Robert Priem, Steve Puetz, Ronald Casperson, and David Wilker.

Russell Tindell was born on Nov. 28, 1954. He was baptized March 13, 1955 at Peace Lutheran in Clayton and was confirmed in the same church in May of 1969. Rusty was a 1973 graduate of Garnavillo High School; and a 1977 graduate of Iowa State University. He had been employed at the Allen Motor Co. in Cedar Rapids.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Lucille Knospe of Garnavillo; five sisters: Mrs. Francis (Jean) Strahl and Mrs. Joe (Peggy) Helle, both of Garnavillo, Mrs. Harlan (Pat) Harbaugh of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Louis (Betty) Helle of Fairfax, Iowa, and Mrs. Doug (Cindy) Rowland of Walford, Iowa.
