Frank William Timmerman
Frank William Timmerman was born to parents William and Minnie Witt Timmerman on Dec. 18, 1915 in Linton Township in Allamakee County. He died Saturday, March 14, 1992 at Prairie Du Chien Memorial Hospital in Prairie Du Chien, Wis. He was 76.
He was baptized in the Evangelical Church by Pastor Glager, and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in 1949. He received his education at the Figi school.
On Nov. 10, 1948 he married Lovina Levenhagen at St. Pauls Lutheran Church by Pastor Schlueter. They had seven children, and they farmed in Linton Township northeast of Monona. After retiring from farming, Frank worked as a cheesemaker for Mississippi Valley and various other cheese factories. He was a violinist, a guitarist and an avid outdoorsman.
Preceding him in death were seven brothers, Henry, Grover, Fred, Harry, Herman, Theodore, and Willis; also, one half-brother, John; and one sister, Anna Ferguson.
Surviving is his wife Lovina; five daughters, Dorla Lessard of Horicon, Wis., Rebecca Dirks of Indianola, Judy Kirchner of Neenah, Wis., Lucinda Novey of Horicon, Wis., and Janice Timmerman of Gallatin, Tenn.; two sons, Lindsay of Prairie Du Chien, Wis., and Roger, stationed in Germany with U. S. Army; three sisters, Selda Topel of Waukon, Emma Snitker of Postville and Mabel Kruse of Monona; and 13 grandchildren, Chad, Jason, Lisa and Lynn Novey, Nathanael, Joshua and Andrew Dirks, Keith and Anna Kirchner, Lea Timmerman and George, Sarah and Franklin Lessard.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 18, 1992 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monona, Pastor Terry Hudson officiating. The organist was Florence Evans; special music was provided by violinist Pam Malanaphy and guitarist Wilbert Topel. Honorary pallbearers were Walter Klotzbach, Vernon Glawe, Donnie Levenhagen and Harvey Montour. Pallbearers were Milo Timmerman, Roger Bechtel, Wilbert Topel, Robert Topel, Delbert Timmerman, David Trappe and Jason Ferguson. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor. Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of service.
