Patricia Towers
Patricia Ann (Henkes) Towers, daughter of Farley and Merlie Hazlett Henkes, was born on the family farm near Farmersburg, Iowa, on October 17, 1933. She passed away on Fri., May 19, 1978 of cancer, in Providence, Rhode Island.
Patty was baptized in the Monona Methodist Church on June 17, 1934 by Rev. L. H. Joslin and was received into membership on March 30, 1947 by Rev. Roscoe C. Jerrell. She received her elementary education at Gooding School in Wagner Township and graduated from Monona High School in 1952. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Luther College, Decorah, Ia. in 1956 and continued her education at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She was united in marriage to Tom H. Towers on July 2, 1958 at Albuquerque, New Mexico. There were three boys born to this union -- Arthur, George, and Frank.
Patty was preceded in death by her mother, Merlie Henkes of Monona.
She leaves to remember her, her husband, Dr. Tom H. Towers, three sons - Arthur, George, and Frank, all of Providence, Rhode Island; her father, Farley Henkes of Monona; her brother, Rollie Henkes of Moline, Ill. and her sister, Mrs. Eldon (Polly) Morrison of White Bear Lake, Minn., other relatives and friends.
Services were conducted at the Schultz Funeral Home in Monona on May 23, 1978 by the Rev. Raymond W. Pacholke of the Garden City United Methodist Church. Interment was in the Giard Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ray Looney, Kenneth Looney, Ambrose Looney, Jim Looney, William Meyer, and Greg Koether.
