HOMER DOUGLASS
RITES SATURDAYFuneral services were held Saturday, may 17 at Bakke and Hanson funeral home for Homer Douglass, 93, former McGregor resident. He died Thursday, May 15 at the Howard Hitner home near Waukon where he received care for five years. The Rev. William Tjaden was the officiating minister and interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Mr. Douglass was born June 1, 1876 in LaVelle, Wis. His parents were George and Juliette Douglass. He lived in Clinton, Harpers Ferry and McGregor before coming to Wakon. He was educated in the McGregor schools and was employed as a cabinet maker and interior decorator.
He is survived by two brothers, Art, who lives in the state of Washington and Ervie of McGregor and three sisters, Mrs. Rachel LeHew, Indianapolis, Ind.; Mrs. Ethel Beck, Spooner, Wis.; and Mrs. Dorothy Sinksen of Clinton.
Two brothers, Albert and Earl preceded him in death. He was a member of the Congregational Church in McGregor.
