Susana Feidt McDowell ~ daughter of John and Alice Stone Feidt was born on October 19, 1888 on a farm near Garber, Iowa. She passed away on April 27, 1960 at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital at Manchester at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 8 days.

Susy grew up in the Garber vicinity and received her education there. She was married to Delbert McDowell on December 25, 1908 at Garber, Iowa. To this union one child Vanita was born.

She is preceded in death by her husband Delbert and 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.

She is survived by: one daughter, Mrs. Wm. (Vanita) Hohmann of Manchester, Iowa; three sisters: Mrs. Bertha Hansel of Garber, Iowa; Mrs. Earl (Alzina) Hindel of Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Irene Beyer of Des Moines, Iowa; one brother Edward Feidt of Garber, Iowa.

There are also 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and a host of friends and neighbors.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on April 29th at the Appleton Funeral Home by Rev. Murlin Hansel with Frances Farmer, Ed Farmer, Milton Kramer, George Hacket, Bill Crane, and Martin Hubbard acting as Casket Bearers with interment at Mount Harmony Cemetery.
