Mrs. Kathryne Ross
Funeral services were held last Thursday, at the Thornburg Funeral Home, McGregor, for Mrs. Kathryne M. Ross, 75 , who passed away Saturday, Aug. 29,1964 at Bremerton, Washington, at the home of her son. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor.
She was born April 29, 1886, the youngest daughter of the late Jacob and Charlotte Scrogum, at the family homestead north of Marquette.
Mrs. Ross, a long time resident of Marquette, had retired from civil service employment in the Marquette Post Office and was active in the Methodist Church, before going to Bremerton, to make her home with her son.
She is survived by her son, John Ross and two granddaughters, Ann and Jeannine of Bremerton, Washington and a step-daughter, Margaret Ross of Washington, D.C.; also nieces and nephews.
The funeral was attended by the following from out of town: Mr. and Mrs. John Ross, Bremerton, Wash.; Miss Margaret Ross of Washington, D. C.; Mr. and Mrs Frank Winn, Mrs Hattie Ross and Mr. and Mrs Ken Crapnell, all of Oelwein; and Charles Runneberg of Havelock, Ia.
